Valkyrie hosts small group riding programs every week from late June to mid-August, as well as during the April school break.  Group size is usually 3 to 5 riders, ages 6 to 13. We have something for every skill level, from beginner to more experienced riders. Come for one week or more!

2018 Session Fees:

Half Days - 8:30 - 12:30 -$375 per session
Full Day - 8:30 - 3:30 - $525 per session
Private lessons can be scheduled as available and are billed at the regular lesson rates.
The half-day program includes one hour of riding instruction each morning after grooming and tacking the horses for the lesson. Also,  kids learn about horse health and welfare, the different equipment used in riding and how to care for it, what is involved in getting ready for a horse show – even some barn chores.  Plus crafts and lots of fun!

We also have a full-day program one of the August weeks for riders registered in the morning session. The afternoon session starts with lunch, often eaten outside while watching advanced riders and trainers. Then on to more fun with the horses and ponies such as: practice horse care skills, learn about and get rides in our horse-drawn cart, enhance balance skills with riding the hilly fields on the property!  Optional private lesson on one or more days for additional fee.
Half-day program runs 8:30 to 12:30: Monday through Friday. Weekly cost is $375, with a deposit of $175 required with registration.

Full-day program runs 8:30 to 3:30, Monday through Friday. Weekly cost is $525, with a deposit of $325 required with registration.
Curious what to expect and prepare for?
The first day will start with a safety orientation, and safety is continuously emphasized. All campers need to wear long pants and helmets for any time spent on a horse. Jeans or similar non-slippery pants are fine. Valkyrie has helmets for loan. Everyone must wear enclosed shoes for all time spent in the barn, and riders need boots or shoes with a small heel for riding.

Everyone should bring a water bottle plus snacks/drink for a morning break.
Kids staying for the full day should also bring lunch
