Helmets and Riding Attire
Schooling Helmet
SEI/ASTM approved Riding Helmets must be worn by ALL RIDERS when mounted. Approved helmets are available for our beginning students until they have the opportunity to purchase their own.

Heeled boots (1/2 inch) with a hard sole are the safest footwear. Running shoes or wedge soles are not permitted as feet may slip through the stirrups without proper heels. Students committing to the riding program often invest in paddock boots.

Jeans or comfortable pants are also fine for beginners, but riding breeches, jodphurs or schooling tights may provide more comfort.

Riding gloves may be worn year round and provide some protection from rein rubs. Gloves are optional.
